We are super happy and honored by this recognition of the work. Recognition in the arts is somewhat important because in addition to jolt the claw to continue putting Art in the world, it helps to open doors that help the artwork to exist. The second phase of the award is by popular vote so I would ask for your support voting here: http://www.pressaward.com/votacao/

THE BRAZILIAN HOUR

This last March 30th, 2014, happened the first edition of the event The Brazilian Hour (A Hora do Brasil).
I was invited to open the event with a piece of my solo show “Chao & Sonhos”, where I sing songs written and composed by myself.

Created by Hollywood TV Host Julia Melim, the event happened at The Stand – comedy Club, in the East Village, Manhattan.
The show was SOLD OUT!

Mr Diego Porchile,  an amazing musician from Uruguay, played the guitar with me. He was also one of the musicians from the show Infinite While It Lasts, that I performed with Group.BR.

In the event, some really cool people also performed their pieces. In the comedy acts, Julia Melim, Damon Wayan, Larry Beyah, Madison Malloy, Mariana Costa Pinto, Yarin Brosh, and also the singers Fabiana Masili, from “As Lolas” (a women only band), Kel do Nascimento, Apoena Frota and Andre Vasconcellos and Juliana Correa.

Showing my own songs in public for the first time in NYC was quite a challenge! A night that took a lot of courage! Feel very fulfilled, and got some nice feedbacks both from people that did and that didnt speak English! 🙂 Experiences like this feed the faith to keep following my heart! Gratitute!

We also got a page in the New York Spy! Take a look: http://newyorkspy.com/2014/03/julia-melim-and-the-brazilian-hour/
